About

I began my career on BBC Radio Northampton at the age of 15, and since then have worked as a freelance writer and broadcaster, working for BBC Radio 4, BBC Studios, The Times and The Guardian, writing on everything from grief, to meerkats, to making the perfect cup of tea.

My personal career highlights include writing The Archers calendar and writing for Kathy Clugston (BBC Radio 4 continuity announcer) in a challenging role as a dung-beetle for a Radio 4 collaboration with the Natural History Museum.  A lowlight was crying in a pub on national television when Helen Archer was found not guilty.  (I know, I know, it’s not real).

In other lives I write about tech for various PR agencies and give coaching as well as voice and presentation training to executives.

If you’d like me to write something for you, whether it’s about meerkats, The Archers or tech, or you’d like some help with presentation, you can contact me on lucy@lucyvfreeman.co.uk.
